On this day, July 20th, in 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended towards the moon in a landing vehicle called the "Eagle." After a computer malfunction caused them to miss their mark by 4 miles and running low on fuel, Armstrong heroically took control and landed the vehicle manually in an unknown environment amidst ridges, craters, and jagged boulders. He uttered the often repeated phrase, "The Eagle has landed." Together, they planted a U.S flag and left behind a plaque which read....
"Here Men From the Planet Earth
First Set Foot Upon the Moon
July 1969, A.D.
We Came in Peace for All Mankind"
I am so very proud to be an American
GOD Bless America
